Does Bilic have Jelavic ahead of Carroll in the pecking order?
Or was that more of a tactical substitution?

Was sure he would bring Carroll on after the Newcastle game.

I doubt it.

Yesterday We needed someone mobile to come on and carroll wasn't the answer.

I think he thought Jelavic would be able to run with the ball more if he received it. He is also cup tied so I expect Carroll to start on Tuesday.

Think it was tactical. I would try and explain but I am hungover

Carroll will be used alot more at home when teams are sitting deep.

Was great to see Bilic take off two midfielders and put on two forwards to ease the pressure

Tactical yesterday, I think.

He did a decent job putting himself around. It wasn't a game for Carroll if he's not at 100%

I think big Andy might get 45 mins on Tuesday night.

no, probably just tactical, plus he'll probably start carroll against leicester as jelavic is cup tied

I think Jelavic is better at holding the ball up, and we desperately needed to hang on to the scraps of possession we had.

Be interesting to see how he uses him when he's fully fit. Other than through injury it's hard to see anyone other than Sakho leading the line. has the knack of scoring and put an immense shift in yesterday.

No.because he doesn't have a pecking order like the one you summise that he has .

A runner like Antonio. Which is what we needed.

Can see Carroll starting Tuesday

The Tuesday night thing is what I thought.

Believe Bilic will ignore the price tag of players. I do wonder how Carroll will fit into our quick breaking counter attacking team?

Looks like a Carroll type striker wasn't exactly what Bilic required, ioc?

Sakho seems to fit perfectly with the way he sets up, just as I thought.

As said a thousand times, Carroll should be a plan b off the bench, especially at home. He does not really suit the pace we play at, especially away from home.

Re: Does BILIC have JELAVIC ahead of CARROLL in the pecking order?
Jelavic is a lot more mobile than carroll, and that's what he required the striker to do for the last 20 mins. Just run around a lot.
It was the right substitution.

For a split second I thought he was going to score from Sakho's headed pass.

Re: Does BILIC have JELAVIC ahead of CARROLL in the pecking order?
A nobrainer in that situation.

Against Newcastle we were 2-0 up and wasn't under serious threat. Therefore he got a few minutes.

Yesterday would be suicide to bring him on.

Thank God we finally have a manager that wants a result before playing certain players.

Calm yourself, boy. Five games in is a little early to making such judgements, don't you think.

If we were going to make judgements we could could say that we have lost two games we should have won and that a fit Carroll would have made a difference in them. But that is just speculation.

My opinion is we have a good squad now but there will be times when Andy Carroll will be exactly what Bilic requires.

But carrying on making judgements before the player is actually fit, if it makes you happy.

IMO he doesn't fit into our squad and hopefully they'll wrap him in cotton wool keep him fit till January and somebody struggling will be desperate enough to sign him
